Lately it seems like every article I browse pertaining to cosmetics always mentions bronzer.  Apparently, I’m supposed to use bronzer at all times.  Suddenly it’s assumed that I use bronzer.  I’m confused.  When was I supposed to start using bronzer?  Are people looking at me askance wondering why I’m not using bronzer?  I should point out right now that my spell checker does not acknowledge the existence of bronzer.

Anywho…that’s kind of what my mind has been like today, wandering in and out of reality and things that matter.  It took me an incredibly long time to get my head into some revisions that needed done for a complaint I’ve been working on over the last few days.  It seemed like every time I settled down and started concentrating I would be interrupted by some outside force or my mind would start wondering about important, cutting edge issues like whether or not my life lacks luster because I don’t own bronzer.

And what the hell happened to December?  Didn’t we just do Thanksgiving?

Finally, I’m coming up empty on the Random Dog Photo today.  I have a photo of Koba in his elf outfit sitting on a memory card in my camera.  Maybe next time I post I’ll upload it.  Maybe next time I post I’ll be bronzed.

Yesterday we went and bought ourselves our Christmas present.  We now are the proud, confused owners of a Playstation 3.

We never contemplated owning a game system before and we are complete neophytes.  However, we’ve gotten as far as discovering it is a dangerous toy.  It is a toy that can completely suck your day dry.  Currently, we are hooked on Motorstorm.    Next up today is is Final Fantasy.  But much later today.  I gotta get some stuff done!

Yesterday I had an interview that actually ended up being a very enjoyable conversation.  I like interviews that don’t follow the standard canned routine.

Today I must get some household stuff under control and start drafting some documents for my contract project.  Hopefully J will maintain control over the Playstation because I don’t wanna get lost today.

I’m putting the Random Dog Photo right up front because it pretty much sums up my week.   These are my parent’s Pair O’ Papillons, Patch and Smudge.  Smudge is the intensely curious puppy invading the personal space of Patch.  I think Smudge is just a tad over 3 months old and 3 pounds.  However, she makes up for her age and size by…well…you can see that she isn’t to be ignored.

I finished my last week volunteering for a government agency and will really miss working with the great people I met and the experience I gained each and every day.  I lined up one contract job that’ll keep me busy today.  I have an interview tomorrow and I’m still waiting for word on an interview from a week ago.  The job/contract prospects are looking up slightly.

We’ve had snow on the ground for a few days now.  Snow hassles aside, it would be nice to have a White Christmas this year.

I’m working on a new blog theme. I threw up this temporary header for fun and will definitely be making some changes! I can’t have graphics go all the way to the edge unless I want the choppy look (which I don’t). Brace yourselves. This will probably get ugly before it gets pretty.

Yeah, so I did it. I moved. Here I am in WordPress. All of me is here in WordPress, not just some of me. The import of all my posts from both my Movable Type-driven site and Blogger went like a breeze. I’m still rattling around setting things up in this new environment.

I like the ease of use but there are some limitations. But they are limitations I can live with. For instance, I am limited on widgets. To counter-act that, I have the ability to set up pages outside of my posts. So I lose cool stuff like my LibraryThing, but I can set up a page of links to my favorite authors so it’s an even trade off.  The themes are limited (for instance, this is the only Christmas theme), but the layouts are customizable and I can add my own header when I have the time.  Again, a reasonable trade-off.

Ohohoh, before I forget, all my photos and comments came over with the imports!  I expected to hit a snag with those, but like I said, the import was dreamy.

Enjoy the new environment.  My apologies to regular readers who have to change their RSS feed again.  I don’t mean to be such a pain, truly.

Oh yeah, I caved and changed the name.  I agonized over the name and then realized the simplest thing was to evolve from becoming to being which is exactly what happened.

I’ve been eyeing WordPress and I’m pretty sure it’s time to make the move. It has more functionality than blogger, but doesn’t appear to have the pain in the ass elements of Movable Type.

The biggest selling point is that it appears I can import my old Movable Type entries and my Blogger entries into WordPress without having to cut and paste individually. This is a huge deal to me because I still have a gazillion entries to move over from Movable Type.

So there you have it. My excuses and justifications. Keep your eye out for directions to my new home.

Hassle of the Day: The weather today sucks. It’s rainy and windy – windy is the part that sucks. I don’t mind rain and I don’t mind snow, but add wind into the mix and I begin minding.

This morning I had an interview for a job I’d really like to get. I felt good about the interview overall. As always, there are other candidates for the position so time will tell.

After the interview I headed for my home office and took care of some junk that’s been piling up. The pile is mostly nit-picky quick items that I’ve been putting off with my usual flare for procrastination. I still have a massive backlog of personal paperwork to sort through, trash, and file. I pretty much stopped trying to control my mess during the third year of law school and there is an abandoned desk in the spare bedroom piled high with what I assume will mostly be trash (as in it sat for so long it is now moot).

Christmas shopping conundrums are beginning to bother me. I’m stumped for gifts for quite a few people. I may have to take a day and just wander around a mall looking for inspiration.

While doing some Christmas decorating today, I threw in my newly purchased DVD of The Song Remains the Same. I’m going to date myself by confessing that I viewed this film at numerous midnight movies in my teenage years. The soundtrack album was also my first Led Zeppelin purchase.

I remember when the eagerly anticipated album In Through The Out Door was finally released. (Yes, I’m ancient.) I was busily rehearsing my pitch to my parents for permission to see them live at their first U.S. Tour in years. I was beyond crushed to hear the tragic news that John Bonham died. Not only was this a huge hit for a lunatic Led Zeppelin fan, but it forever squashed my chances of ever seeing Led Zeppelin in concert.

As a teenager I had a massive crush on Jimmy Page. While watching the film again, I realized I still do as in day-um Jimmy Page. I once got into a prolonged argument with some twit over whether or not Jimmy Page is the greatest guitar player of all time. I still want to throttle the guy. Imbecile.

Just to underscore my point:
